Remote Presentation Stress-Test this Sunday, May 28th at Noon EDT. Free RSS Feed Generator for participants.

Hey DNR fans, I’m looking for a bunch of geeks to connect to a remote presentation and test the limits of my system. This Sunday at Noon EDT. If you have 30 minutes to spare you can participate. As a thank-you I’ll give you my RSS Generation software that we use at Pwop to generate feeds. It is a template-based data-driven system that’s very easy to use and modify for your own needs.

Here’s the deal. I want to see how many people can effectively connect to a machine on our network remotely with VNC (http://ultravnc.sf.net). This will have implications for future events and services which I am not yet at liberty to talk about.

To participate send an email to mdaemon@franklins.net with the words SUBSCRIBE stresstest as the first and only line. No subject is required. Send messages to stresstest@franklins.net once you’ve subscribed.

You’ll get instructions once you’ve subscribed.

Getting back at scammers... of the belligerent kind

I’ve been getting an automated phone call every day for at least 2 months on the Pwop phone line from a company called Allied Interstate. They are scam artists. Just google them or check out these complaints at complaints.com about them.

I could just change the phone number, and I probably will, but these guys deserve some good clean counter-harrassment for being so belligerent about scamming people.

Just read the complaints. You won’t believe the balls they have. I don’t want to break the law, but perhaps we could think of a way to make their lives as miserable as they are making mine. And, I just get one call a day. Some of these people get 25 calls a day.

Perhaps we could make a Mondays bit out of it.

Mondays and dnrTV this week

Fear not! Mondays will return next week in all its wackiness. Maybe we should call the show Everyothermondays.

Also, dnrTV took a long time to get together this week, so it will be published over the weekend.

We've been working on some great new stuff that I can't wait to tell you about, but it will have to wait a day or so.
