Free apartment in NYC for one year - on top of a New York salary!
So I got a call from Greg Brill, Nick Landry's boss in New York, who runs Infusion. They are in the financial trading software business. He's looking to get some ".NET Rocks! Listener" quality developers to come to New York for one year and work for them. To sweeten the pot, he's kicking in a free apartment in New York and air fare for one year. He also indicated that they would help with moving expenses. I talked to Greg about this on .NET Rocks! this week. It's right at the beginning of the show. This is a great opportunity for any .NET developer to get some killer experience swimming with the sharks in the Big Apple. I don't know if you've been keeping up with rent in NYC, but check out this quote from a recent article about NYC real estate prices in Forbes Magazine: "In Manhattan specifically, the average rent came in at a whopping
$48.33 per square foot--an estimate supported by July figures from Citi Habitats,
a New York City-area real estate agency. The median monthly rent for a
studio apartment in Manhattan is more than $1,900, according to Citi
Habitats. If it's a three-bedroom spread that you're after, prepare to
fork over somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000." So, consider doing the Jerry Seinfeld thing for a year, save up some cash, and get experience working for a major financial software company. Oh, and you get to pal around with ActiveNick. No extra charge. You can contact Greg directly by email at gbrill at infusiondev dot com

Mondays #58 - The Best of Mark Miller Part 1

The Best of Mark Miller Part 1
We've gone back through the archives, and after realizing how crappy the first 11 shows were, we included Mark's Dumbah than Me segments starting at show #12, which is when he began doing the 'You Sir...' bit. Of course there are various stories mixed in. Hey, it's the best of! Consider this a prelude to Millahseconds! You can hear Kirk Webb and Nick Landry in some of the early bits.

No Mondays This Week
Last week was hectic for some of us. We're looking forward to next week, though.
